Organisation: Film credits at the end, before and after

For my first draft I included these poster with the credits and the dates when the film would be released. However, my teacher advised me not to use this poster as they do not use this on existing products so he suggested making a plain ending that just has the title pf the film the release dates and then one that has the credits, so after looking at existing products I created a new reinvented closing for my trailer ending.

This is the new credits I have created and its plain and simple but yet it has the essential information that is needed this looks realistic and I have made it relatable to the theme of my trailer because I have added black petals on top of black writing.

Organisations: New filters and Why I have used them for the final draft

DREAMY

The reason as to why I have decided to chose Dreamy for the filter is because its this very light partially blurry filter and when I was researching into similar, existing products all of them had this filter when referring to the past or if it included a Flashback and thats why I have used and I do believe that it looks as though its a memory, especially compared to the previous footage which looking at it you can tell that its a past relationship. This makes it obvious that these are some kind of old memories which is what I intend to portray.

CAMO

When creating this trailer my intention was for the disrupted clips to look as creepy and petrifying as it can and when I was researching ancient things especially videos and photos that appear as though they are ancient is associated with being retrying thats why I have included this Camo filter the darker and less vibrant the clip the scarier and more abnormal that it looks and this edit compared to the original makes the clip way more petrifying and its little adoptions like this that will create the conventions of my genre.

SCI-FI

Once again the filter Sci-fi makes my clip look more abnormal and weird as it unusual to see a video in a green filter it looks creepy and petrifying and I didn't use the original because the bright highway lighting does not look scary so I added this filter to make the conventions more obvious.

OLD WORLD

Old World makes my clip look way more scarier than it looks, the filter makes the clip darker and makes the sections on the clips lighter with a brown font so this makes the dark areas darker and the light areas lighter so this makes the female appear way more petrifying because you can only partially see her face and her appearance resembles the main character in the ring who looks very petrifying.

DAY INTO NIGHT

This filter was extremely useful as this scene was set in the night when times are dark as the characters are suppose to be sleeping. However, when I previously filmed in the dark the camera would not focus and the footage would come out in low quality and it was hard to make out what the characters are doing because it was too dark; so I decided to shoot earlier. However, it was obvious that its daylight and darkness and night times are hours that are associated as being scary so to make my trailer paper more thrilling I used a filter than makes my clip appear as though its night time and I think it works very well and its very believable.

Organisation: Removed footages & Why I removed them

Organisation: New Footages I have filmed and why I included them.

I have decided to film this footage because when I was researching into similar products I found that really dark and fast paced footage were the most thrilling and I felt these extra footage would add to the characters weird and abnormal attitude. So this footage works effectively as the victim is sitting in front of a television watching old videos of herself and her cheating spouse and then all of a sudden she unexpectedly hits the camera out our hands which is frightening and intends to make the audience jump.

I have decided to include this footage because once again it adds to the theme of being an abnormal, psychological thriller and blood pouring out somebodies mouth is very petrifying and in other words dangerous, so to ensure my trailer follows the conventions of its genre I have added these extra footage.

This footage is to added to the love scene and its used to show the couple doing different activities and having diverse memories and experiences.

Organisation: First trailer draft and Feedback received.

I have received feedback from the first draft of my trailer. My teacher has given me constructive criticism to improve the trailer. Firstly, the positives is that:
  • In terms of technical codes, overall he gets it.
  • Its very promising and has potential.
  • The story is obvious domestic happiness, disrupted by the 'other' woman and then a revenge story.
However, to improve he has suggested that:
  • It needs tightening up and its too long.
  • He feels like too much story line has given too much in the trailer, what is left for the audience to find out.
  • The strongest part is definitely from 1:05 and towards 2:58 onwards the trailer loses it, so he recommends cutting the trailer and finishing around 2:53 as the other scenes starts to lose the just of the trailer and becomes a bit tedious, and remove the gun and the fighting scene and just finish the trailer of with the blood splatter.
  • I have used too much existing music when your only allowed 13-14 seconds of original music, so I need to remove some of the music.
  • At the start of the trailer which shows the relationship of the loving and doting couple the dialogue/ sequence is on the border of the genre RomCom. He suggest keeps the sequences shorter and (flashed), lose the dialogue and keep the music.
  • Don't include the MGM inter-title as it does not exist anymore and does not relate to my production company.
  • Remove the poster like ending and include a credits which is usually what trailers end in.
I will listen to this feedback and re edit my draft and incorporate this into my final edit so my trailer will appear more realistic and professional.

Organisation: Movie poster drafts.

1)

This is the first draft I have created I have once again used a blended technique and created a rose within the image of the main female protagonist, I like this is age and I like the settings, this is kind of similar to the 'Black Swan' movie poster which goes for a  more elegant and classy poster. For me this is too bland its not captivating and I wanted to create something a bit more spectacular, which represents the plot of the movie, I also don't want my poster to look similar to my magazine.
2)
I have decided to create something less bland and that has more conventions, I have included a lot of different images I have used lots of techniques such as blended, and changing the opacity, overlaying, removing the background and changing the colours of on the poster. I have not included the full conventions such as the title the indents and the headline and the credits I have abandoned this though  I really do not like the layout of the poster WAY too m much is going on and its not flowing and working well together, the city is random and then the sunset and with the white background opposite does not look good, there is way too much I think this is ugly and its not attractive nor is it sophisticated.
3.
I have used this poster instead of the first one for a draft because this image is very creative and vivd therefore I have decided to use this photo and see how it looks, I pretty much have the same opinion as the first one as its the same features but just a different main image. I personally wanted to create something more captivating and attractive I feel this is too basic, I really wanted to push myself and become creative with this poster.
4,
I have decided to create this poster and I am actually very proud of it when trying to create this is had to keep referring to existing products, because I was so stuck on how I should construct the poster and I knew I wanted to use all of these images. I have came up with this poster, the background is a plea, stormy grey weather with sky scrapers, the colour is visible but It can be dominated nay other features, I have decided to use two I'm age and turn them black and white so they are the same colour as the sky, I have changed the opacity and made in more transparent so the pictures look as if they are in the clouds, I have added extra clouds, which are the same colour as the background and I have overlaid it on top of the photos so it appears as though the photos are in the sky. I have included the main image which I have removed the background I have blended a city within it so it stands out beneath the bleak and bland grey background, the image is vivid and vibrant so it stands out more and makes the poster become more attractive. I then realised I had extra space from the centre down wards I added a photo with the trio, David in the middle then the two women fighting over him we can now see that this is a love triangle plot and there is some violence incorporated within it. The bottom of the photo has a straight edge so I decided to cover this upon and put the title over this , the title is white like the gun and the rest of the photo so the colour scheme makes the photo look aesthetically pleasing, I have also included a headline and the credits with the release date of the movie. The bottom of the poster I have included the important symbols which makes the poster appear more official. The poster is something I really like and it can potentially be my final draft. I will obviously have to consult my target audience and hear their opinions but this is definitely my favourite draft.

Research into Target Audience: Faded Poster Photos.

I have asked my peers on their opinions on the poster that I have created, I was weary because I was experimenting and I don't know how they would react. The response was very positive and the favourite is the 2nd photo with the blue sky scrapers and orange sunset, I agree because this was my personal favourite aswell so I am glad that my target audience those who are my age and of this millennial and youthful generation. I have received the response such as 'Its so artistic and unique' and 'it looks wicked the plot is represented in this image'. So I will be incorporating this image in my poster and I will be using it as my main image on the poster. There is a lot of violence in the trailer and the weapon a gun is used therefore its relatable and the location is set in the city even the establishing shot is of the city.

Organisation creating a faded effect.

1.

2)

3)

For extra effect I have decided to blend different photos to make my poster look high quality and be original and captivating, I have experimented with some apps and the best one was an app called 'fused' I decided to use the photo of the male protaganist the original photo was not professional nor was it high quality but I still wanted to use it as I like the representation of it. I decided to use the photos and turn them black and white as this makes the photo blend clearer and more effectively. I then decided to use cities and beautiful sunsets beach the trailer is set in a beautiful city and I wanted to incorporate the location as well as elements from the plot. The app has different effect is could make the background white and inside completely bled or the background be blended it was very easy and effective to use, plus it was time consuming so I didn't spend a lot of time on doing this effect which if I did it on a photoshop it would've been way more complex and time consuming. I am actually impressed as to how it turned out the only problem was that it was Watermarked however I can fix this by either cropping it or blurring it out. This app really helped me bring my vision to like and helped me to be creative and experiment to create a high quality photo, I will ask my peers though if they like this creation and which of these they like the best.
