Now that I have finalized my Cast I have now finalized the Characters name, the name is important as its a form of their identity and the whole purpose of a trailer is to exaggerate the plot of movie. So it appeals to the audience making them influenced to watch it. It was essential the names were relatable to my plot, but still modernized names the audience will be familiar with, it was vital it also represented the characterization of the characters. Which in my opinion the name successfully does this.

Drafting and Planning: Characterisation
I have decided to go in depth with characterisation. This is a significant element because I am filming and directing not acting. So the ideology I have of the characters, I need to explain it thoroughly so nmy cast can fully execute the characters personality, traits, intelligence and body posture ect. So my actors carefully understand how they are supposed to act.
The female protagonist: At the equilibrium I want the female protagonist, to be humble, meek cute and infatuated. I want her to be very sweet and fragile. So soft spoken, really giddy, optimistic and perky. The reason as to why is because I wan her obsessive transformation to be a shock as its a trailer. The juxtaposition will make my trailer appear more shocking and thrilling as someone so innocent and pure reacts in such a villainous, monstrous way. I want her to be quite soft spoken with a high pitched voice. Always happy and optimistic. For her features, I am going for the stereotypical characteristic of cute, so for her psychical features. the actress would preferably have dimples, be short (under 5'5), quite slim and petite. I have chosen for my actress to have a very small body frame so she is stereotyped as fragile and inferior. Which is clearly not the case. She's going to be very attractive, modernized clothing, versatile hairstyle's and professional makeup, I want her to look lavish and opulent but still down to earth. However, when the disruption kicks in, I want her to be loud, aggressive, very hot headed, argumentative and opinionated. I want her to be monstrous preform random attacks and cause havoc. I also want her to be manipulative and feel as though she's victimized, so I want her to also be delusional she genuinely believes her behaviour is the normal or the correct way to act.
The Male: I want the male to be your typical masculine man, he feels as though hes a breadwinner, and because they are financially able and live in this big expensive house. I want him behave as though he thinks his infidelity is not that serious, I do not want him to have any remorse. This will make the audience not empathize with either of the characters.

Drafting and Planning: Film Title Typography Audience feedback
I have came up with potential names to call my trailer. They all related and I liked how all of them. As i was indecisive I decided to ask my friends and family which name is the best for the plot of the trailer and which logo design is the best and reasons as to why. This helped me to make a conclusion and finalize what name I will call my trailer as there was a vast amount of options.
From my responses which were my target audience adolescents and adults. Everyone was over the age if 15 so the film is suitable and targeted to them, plus I briefly explained what the plot of the film is so it will help to influence their decisions and so they can understand why I choose these name.
From my responses which were my target audience adolescents and adults. Everyone was over the age if 15 so the film is suitable and targeted to them, plus I briefly explained what the plot of the film is so it will help to influence their decisions and so they can understand why I choose these name.
- The most popular in ranks are:The Infidelity & Black rose. This was tied the response I got for the infidelity is it clearly relates to the plot of the movie and its a very short, snappy memorable name. I like the name the infidelity because it defines the plot of the trailer so by hearing the name the audience instantly knows unfaithfulness in a relationship is an essential plot in the narrative. What I don't like about it is its quite cliché and its not original Infidelity is an obvious for a film which narrative is about unfaithfulness. Majority of those who chose this name were males from the age of 16 -18. They most likely chose the shortest and the most relatable name.
- Black Rose: Black Rose was joined in popularity with infidelity. I personally really like black rose as it has a clever negative connotation. Roses are red which are associated with love and romance and roses are known as the ultimate romantic flower of love. While contrastingly black has connotations of death, evil, and mystery and by rose which is the symbolism of love it implies that there is going to be death, evil and mystery within a romantic relationship. Those that have chosen this names are firstly English lit and media students so they have analysed and saw the symbolism within the name I received a unisex response as well. In the description they said the black rose signifies the darkness that has taken over the protagonist and its contrast to the loving red rose. The problem with this name is that some people will not get the symbolism and I want the name to briefly define what the trailer is about so automatically the audience is aware of the plot of the trailer.
- Fornication: Fornication is another name that defines the plot of the trailer. However, this is quite a big vocabulary and a lot of my peers asked me what fornication meant. This is a downfall because if people are not aware of the name they are less likely to remember it. Which can affect the box office success.
- The name I have decided to choose for my trailer is....BLACK ROSE. This is my favourite name and as its a thriller I like the subtle connotations which relate to the plot. The name has a ring to it and other existing materials do not have this name. So its unique and original.
- The most popular logo design was the last design on the 3rd row in the infidelity column. Using this design with the black rose would look very well as it relates and its not over the top as my teacher advised me the simpler and plainer the title the more professional the trailer appears.
Drafting and Planning: Storyboard
STORYBOARD:
As my pitch went exceptionally well and beforehand when creating my story board I carefully planned and thought about the narrative and structure therefore I don't have a whole lot to alter. However, i have made a slight few changes which i will address underneath. The changes will improve the structure and plot of my trailer.
I want to introduce a black screen at the 2nd to last scene so it will create this invigorating suspense when the final scene cuts in. To leave a climax so my audience will be thrilled to watch the movie and find out what happens next. The scene will the black screen will not include any non diegetic or ambient sounds it will be completely silent. When researching existing products a lot of trailers had this black screen to invoke suspense and as thrill and suspense is essential and correlates with the genre of my trailer its a key feature to include.
In addition to this, from the feedback i have received i have decided to remove the final scene of the handcuffs and include it ion the middle. I will not include the females face so its obvious that its the main character is getting arrested so its evokes suspense. I will be put in the middle with a fast cut to show the severity of her obsession. The final scene is going to be an establishing shot in the dark with the typical '911 or 999 phone call with a voice saying '999 what is your emergency' and then it will cut into the film title and the date it will appear when the trailer is going to be released.
From researching existing products the production companies are not shown until until the disruption so i think I'm going to insert the production company after the equilibrium cutting into the disruption. It creates this suspense and i want my trailer to flow like an existing trailer would so i inserting the production company title after before the disruption its a professional structure.
These are the only changes i have made regarding the plot and story board so far when filming it i could add more intertextuality, but so far these changes are adamant and i already have my plot and structure in place.

Research Into Target Audience: Focus Group Feedback
Plot from Ashlee Traill
Today I pitched my trailer plot/ ideology to my Class. We had to create a presentation, including The genre of our film, The plot and narrative idea and include a drafted storyboard. The purpose of the pitch is that when you have an idea its hard to identify the flaws, for example you may understand your trailer and planned and structured it effectively. But when presenting your ideas to a class they can identify whether the storyline is complex and difficult to understand. If the storyline can even be replicated by an17-18year old A level student for example it would be merely impossible to create a SCI-FI or animation trailer successfully in such a short period and with a small budget. Furthermore the target audience is my age group and as my teacher majors in film and media it would be interesting to gain different perspectives and opinions on my plot and what the strengths and criticisms are. If my class reacted negatively towards my plot then I would listen to their constructive opinions I would have to go back to the research and drafting and planning stage and develop and make changes to the plot of my trailer which would urge a more positive reaction. However, if my audience has a positive reaction towards my trailer. I can began the process of finalising my ideas and continue planning and begin filming.
I wanted my class/audience to thoroughly understand my ideology so I first told them about my genre and why I picked it. Why I decided to hybridize the two genres and how the plot and my plot clearly represents my genre. I've even included existing films of the same genre and which influenced me to adapt this genre for my trailer and from the feedback I have received literally everyone in my class understood the plot as everyone correctly wrote it down when asked what the genre or type of my film is. This is positive because this shows my storyline correlates to my genre as its essential because imagine if you have a horror movie but majority of the storyline has romantic conventions, it will attract the wrong audience and receive negative feedback, which will lead to a decline in the box office success. That's why its an accomplishment to find out my class identifies the genre. The genre I have chosen is not too difficult to successfully produce at a professional and high level. It does not involve any special effects such as CGI and this is a genre I genuinely enjoy.
I have condensed and provided a brief summary of my plot. So my audience can understand what the trailer is about in the simplest form so their is no form of confusion or complexity. I have also included the different stages of my trailer the first stage (equilibrium), the second stage the disruption, the third stage the realisation and the fourth stage the new equilibrium. This was very effective because this breakdown made my class thoroughly understand in depth the plot and structure because when I was looking through the feedback every single one of my members identified the plot and structure when asked what is was. This suggest that the structure is not confusing or complicated. Its very straight forward and I have identified clearly the different stages of my plot. I did this effectively because when I was reviewing the feedback from my classmates they were asked what the plot and the structure of my trailer was and every single one of my classmates correctly identified the plot and structure nobody was unsure or wrote and incorrect plot. Everyone identified the plot and the structure. I am pleased that my plot is easily understood and identifiable and when I was drafting and planning my plot. I continuously asked my teacher to advise me and he told me ironically the simple the plot the better your ideology will be as if you overthink it too much it will be complex, and his advised really worked as everyone understood and enjoyed my storyline.
I have included a visual character representation so my class mates/ audience will be able to visually see what my main protagonist will look like. The appearance of the protagonist tells about about the storyline for example if I want to protagonist to be sultry and seductive I would need a actress to look appealing and alluring to fit this description. The protagonist fits the ideology of my character. and my audience agreed and understood this so I would not have to recast.
I have included a detailed drawing on my drafted storyboard. The story board shows the structure of my plan so my audience can visually image what the scenery the props the camera angles I will be exploring and using it. The first page of my story board is very different fast jump cuts of flashbacks of the 'typical ideal relationship' so I have included stereotyped things couples do like take selfies, go for dinner, be intimate. Then the second page is where you gradually start to see the relationship deteriorate so husband gets a text from a woman, he starts to arrive from home late being very distant. Then she actually catches him being unfaithful and that's when all the drama and craziness comes in. My classmates thought I visually represented my drawings excellently they thought my drawings were clear and it was effectively demonstrated thoroughly.
I got a monumental of positive feedback as I was extremely careful when drafting and planning I stuck to a simple but interesting genre which I know I would personally enjoy. This was executed in my responses as I received 'The plot is captivating and engaging' and ' I love the arch of characters and visuals of how some scenes develop and hints of destructive scenes'. The only criticism I received which my teacher picked up and the whole class agreed and this was the only form of criticisms is that in the ending I was going to include the protagonist getting arrested. Because its a trailer and I'm advertising a potential movie I don want to give the whole plot away so I could maybe change this scene and leave a bit of mystery. When researching I was aware of this but the existing trailers I watched gave away the whole plotline in the trailer even though I made me uninterested in watching the movies because mines not going to be an actual movie I decided to give the plotline away the criticism I received was 'get rid of arrest scene as it gives the ending away' and 'comes across as a short film maybe consider changing the end'. I will listen to this feedback and remove the scene at the end. I can still incorporate the arrest scene but not make it so obvious its the female protagonist and instead of going at the end it can g0 in the middle of the drama scene to create extra suspense.
By presenting my plot it has helped me extremely am confident in my plot and structure and I know that people enjoy my plot an structure and my pitch went really well with numerous positive feedback. I am excited to now start finalising and filming to execute all my ideologies.
